A Healthy Treat

A Healthy Treat

1 Mango

1 Pear

1 Small bowl of grapes

1 Tbsp of honey or agave

They say, "Everything in moderation", so when I eat some of my fave dessert snacks: Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Krispy Kreme, Brownies and Sour Patch Kids, I take this into consideration. I am definitely not that person who has to have dessert everyday or regularly during the week for that matter, but who doesn't love to treat their sweet tooth every now and then.

If you are a sweets obsessed, then I consider you cutting back a tad and trying some healthier dessert options. Yes, deserts can be healthy! I love a good fruit salad and you will too when you try my recipe. I'm going to share with you a super simple twist on the boring old store bought fruit salad you're used to.

I decided to add to my fruit salad a  pear, a mango and some grapes. I washed  each fruit and then I diced each into small pieces. I then placed all my diced fruits in a bowl. After that, I drizzled some honey on the top of my fruit to add some extra sweetness. I placed  my fruit salad in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to chill it, then I removed my dessert and enjoyed it! This quick and easy fruit salad recipe only took about 15 minutes in total and it can be used for snack prep on the go for you or your kids.
